Following a training session, one family took to heart the commandment to “love your neighbor as yourself” Mark 12:31. One of their pigs was about to have a litter, so the family decided to give the firstborn piglet to a very poor family in their neighborhood.
The average litter size is eight to twelve piglets, and often several of them do not survive. But this time, the pig gave birth to seventeen piglets and all survived. The firstborn was a gift for the neighbors. Was this just a coincidence? This family knew beyond a doubt that God was blessing their act of love. They believed that God was multiplying the seed for the sower, or in this case, the pigs for the farmer (2Corinthians 9:10-11).
