Recently, a Congolese church leader traveled to several outlying areas to discover the situation of thousands of village pastors under his watch. He was astonished and heartbroken by what he found. 90% of the village pastors had no Biblical or leadership training. Many pastors did not even own their own Bible. The pastors, along with most of the people in their community, lived in extreme poverty. The church leader was deeply moved with compassion by what he saw and experienced.
People in the outlying areas continue responding to the good news of Jesus Christ. More evangelism and church planting efforts are needed. At the same time, those who are already believers are barely surviving. Churches all too often have little or no positive impact on the communities in which they live. The common denominator these: the need for Biblically-founded leaders with a godly vision for the church and for their communities.
Glory Honor Africa stands in the gap by providing leadership training for pastors. Leadership training includes an overview of the Bible and its message, servant leadership in the home, the church and the community, pastoral ministry skills, principles and practices in establishing new churches that will thrive and multiply, and the role of the church in society.
