“Put what remains in order, and appoint elders in every town” – Titus 1
Recently, a Congolese church leader traveled to several outlying provinces to survey the situation of thousands of village pastors under his watch. He was astonished and heartbroken by what he found. 90% of the village pastors had no Biblical or leadership training. Hundreds of pastors did not even own their own Bible. The pastors, along with most of the people in their community, lived in extreme poverty. The church leader challenged Glory Honor Africa to respond.
More evangelism and church planting efforts are needed. By 2050, the population of DR Congo will grow from the current 87 million to 185 million. Burundi’s population is expected to grow from 11 million to 25 million. Churches all too often have little or no positive impact on the communities in which they live. The need is great for gospel-centered church planters with a vision for transformation of individuals, families, whole communities.
Glory Honor Africa stands in the gap by providing leadership training for healthy, transforming churches in the two countries of Burundi and Democratic Republic of Congo.
